Pale Pinion - A first to start April

First day of the month and a new for the garden, otherwise predominantly Orthosias trapped at the moment as per the expectations of the season.

A few others trapped in the last few days of warmer weather of more interest to me at least:

 Twin-spotted Quaker - only a couple of these per year normally

 March Moth - in March of course

 Satellite - surprisingly uncommon in my garden - only four records, two in March, two in November

 Oak Beauty - always nice to see

Grey Shoulder-Knot - three records no for the garden, all in month of March

And they're off...

After a quiet February despite some warm nights when I just got a couple of Chestnuts, the mothing year has finally kicked off in the last few days with the usual suspects for the season and an early Angle Shades.

Hebrew Character - I expect to reach three figures total count for these by this time next month

Spring springs at last - March 10th

The last days of February and first week of March passed by with only a handful of moths trapped, a few Dotted Border, a March Moth, a Chestnut and the first few Common Quakers and Hebrew Character. The warmth of the last night prompted the first proper haul of the year though with a better total of 14 moths in the trap. I am now hoping that the next few nights will bring some variety to add to the numbers. Still waiting for my Oak Beauty to arrive...
